Want a Feature?

Sun Jul 26, 2009, 12:32 PM
  • Mood: dA Love
  • Listening to: Moonspell - Lunar Still
  • Reading: Eye Tracking publications
  • Watching: my code explode
  • Playing: with C#
  • Drinking: Ice Tea
Here's the deal:

:bulletred: I will feature the first 20 people that comment on this journal entry.
:bulletred: Three of each person's deviations will be featured and I will choose which ones.
:bulletred: After you comment and get featured you have to make a journal entry like this.
:bulletred: If you decide to make a journal entry, you must begin the feature with the person who featured you (that is, me :D ).

Go on, come out of your shadows and try it. It's fun and it helps fellow artists! :D

First of all, the one who featured me:
:iconbaalrech: :bulletblack: This is the End :bulletblack: Victims, aren't we all? :bulletblack: Moonspell Metal GDL3

DeviantArt is a place where artists (known or unknown) showcase their art to the rest of the world. People visiting DeviantArt come here to look at those artists' work and perhaps be inspired themselves. What DeviantArt is NOT, is the world's largest stock gallery where everyone can jump in, steal whatever they want and be off with it, to use it in whatever way they see fit.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy knowing that my work has inspired someone to write, draw, or come to conclusions about their own life (art can do that, too). But it REALLY pisses me off when I browse through Google and stumble upon some Polish or Chinese or whatever site, where someone has decided to download one of my photos, photo manipulations or drawings, quickly wipe out the copyright information from it and upload it as a support image for a text they've written, or as a separate image on its own.

Do a Google Image Search for "iresil" and you will find at least three of my art pieces, used without any permission whatsoever. And there are more of them, and not a single site mentions its sources. I DO have the originals and can prove that they are MY WORK, but even so, we are artists here, and artists strive for RECOGNITION! Who is going to know that I created these images, if here on DeviantArt my art is viewed about 40 times average and on those other sites it gets 4000 (!) downloads??

:steaming: MY ART IS NOT STOCK!!! :steaming:
:steaming: IT IS NOT FREE TO EDIT OR RE-UPLOAD AND IT IS MINE!!! :steaming:
:steaming: ..AND NO, YOU CANNOT CLAIM IT AS YOURS! :steaming:

My watchers, my friends.. (v.2)

Fri Jul 31, 2009, 12:22 AM
Here's a list of the wonderful people that watch me, and some of their creations. :D I'd like to thank everyone once more for keeping me in your watch lists, even though I'm not as active in giving comments, as I used to be. I haven't forgotten about you all, it's just that I'm so damn busy and I don't wish to just tell you "Wow!", "Great work!", without also giving you some constructive criticism.. Your art deserves far more than that.. Anyway, here we go:

*Heaven-Rose - One of the first people kind enough to add me to their friends list.. :) I'm not so sure if I can pick one of her poems as my favourite, but I think He and I Makes Three touched me more than anything else..

~Jiswyn - Everything stands out in this talented photographer's gallery, but End Of The Rain is definitely one of the best water shots I've ever seen!

`nosugarjustanger - At first I felt an irresistible urge to add a link for every poem she has ever written, but finally I chose my personal favourite, and that is Six Feet Underplayground.

~jesterday - I think that This Way... is a very good idea and a very good photograph at the same time!

~desertman - One of the few that always try to comment on everything! :D Check out his deviation Our Street..

~Mayerbunny - She uses some very interesting traditional art techniques.. I think I like If I Were A Puppet the most.

~Shadow-whisper - This deviant's gallery is still very small, but Scratch is a very well made piece of scratch art.

~mirrin - All hail the duct taped tiger! :D Although he has practically emptied his DA gallery recently, Mr. Tiger stands out..

~Proximus1 - Out of an overwhelming amount of cool designs, I think I'd choose Lulu 3, an abstract piece that reminds me of a wheel! :D

~crossbow - My personal favourite of his deviations: Evening Walk.

~G-i-z-m-O - A very talented deviant! Check out her photomanipulation F o r e v e r!

~Neonkitsuneball - Go and say hi! :D And check out Chibi Azreal while you're there!

~KitsuneNomen - Some very interesting traditional art, and a story, To Belong..

~a3eyedstorm - I don't usually find haikus that I like and do not have nature as their main theme, but Oh, The Horror is simply fantastic!

~VampyrePrincesa - A very good emotional poet.. Check out her poem Remnants..

~alargeuo - I know her so little, yet she managed to impress me with both her photography skills and the fact that she tries to comment on everything! Her deviation Untitled_2 is worth taking a closer look!

~davyjames - Check out his deviation Get Away From The Swings! Spooky..

~NecroAbyssuss - Very good photographer with a great ear for music. ;) My personal favourite from his gallery: A wallpaper for his symphonic/majestic black metal band, Lord Impaler, entitled Admirers Of A Cosmos Black.

!TozokuohnoKokoro - Unfortunately, her account seems banned right now, but I love her pixel art Axel No.VIII.

~neznano - Very nice photography gallery, my personal favorite of his photos being Doves of Monastery.

~kalos-eidos-skopein - A new deviant! Go on and say hi. E U P H O R I A is perhaps her most impressive work. Check it out!

~Not-The-Reality - A very promising poet. Her Candle, is a very expressive visual poem.

~ShikyoLukaiUzumaki - A young and very promising anime artist. Check out :+Ratchet's Mocking Bird+: for a sample of her work. [You can also check out her alternate accounts, ~Shikyoism and ~IncognitoShikyo ;) ]

~Nefelh - A new deviant with great talent in writing. My favourite of her poems is O Thanatos Tou Erwta. Check out the rest of her gallery for more.

=archclan - An artist with a great talent for dark art. Check out Silent 2 for a sample of his work.

=Adanedhel-Noir - Very talented photographer and lyrics writer. My personal favorite from his gallery is a song, Becoming A Ghost.

~Ouzo12 - I really love every single photograph in his gallery, though KRAKOW12 - Krakowlandia really caught my eye, with its dreamy feel.

~carnalcarnage - A very talented photographer. His Drunken Scarecrow 2 is one of my favourites from his gallery. :)

~baalrech - Journalistic, and not just that kind of photographer. And a fellow Moonspell fan! :D Take a look at his Incoming Attack, a very powerful nature photograph.

~AltanR - Very interesting photography gallery with a few photomanipulation attempts. Onomatopoeia can be considered my personal favourite of his work.

~MisledYouth80s - This deviant's photography gallery is just beautiful. [ S ] stands out from the rest of the gallery for its bright colors. :)

~Coley77 - Her gallery contains both traditional art and poetry. I really like the way she works with pencils, though I believe Emotional Abuse is a poem containing such a big dose of truth in it, that it simply cannot be overlooked..

*XullraeZauviir - Fantasy writer and a fellow dark elf fan! :D I believe her writing would be well suited for a forgotten realms novel. I Spy is one of the last stories she has written about her drow character, Xull'rae.

*Invader-Asil - A very talented deviant, with a unique drawing style. Check out Canter Competition Entry for an example of this artist's amazing work.

~JasmineAndRose - Friend and colleague, with a talent for photo manipulations, photography and more. :) Although I was having a bit of trouble choosing one of her deviations as my favorite, I believe that He loves me not. really stands out, because of its subject and its beautiful colors.

~eamfos - His gallery is full of beautiful photographs and I was having a hard time choosing one as my favourite, but I think View of an ant is worth taking a look at. The colours are so vibrant and the perspective makes you feel as tiny as an ant, indeed. :D

=khpouros - A very talented digital photographer. I really had a hard time picking just one photo from his gallery, but in the end I chose Hotel1, because of the beautiful effect created by the picture's contrast.

~amorphisss - A deviant of many talents, as he describes himself, I believe he is far more than that. It was really difficult to choose a category, let alone a single one of his deviations. So I suggest you go and visit his gallery, but as a sample of his work before that, you can view Fire & Thunder, a simply amazing digital drawing.

~PinkFishGR - Professional photographer with a huge gallery, in which you're bound to find something you like. :D Entrapment finals 009 caught my eye because of its darker theme and expressive feeling.

~JitterbugPerfume - Lots of photo manipulations and digital art can be found at her gallery, but what I thought was really impressive is Wishing Well. There's something about that particular painting's atmosphere that brings out feelings of sadness.. And art that makes you feel can always be considered amazing. :D

And, of course, I haven't forgotten ~jeremytwin and ~Aeris-sagrada, whose accounts unfortunately seem dead right now, or ~Kwizrak, ~harkon and ~Apollwn, three good friends, who I guess.. forgot to use their deviantArt accounts! :D (Get your a**es back here and upload something! :P )

Well, that was the end of my list.. I wish to thank everyone again.. And ask you to keep drawing, taking pictures, or whatever it is that you do best.. You're all amazing!

P.S.: Sorry for not commenting.. Many great deviations have been uploaded lately, but I honestly don't have the time to give constructive comments, as I'd like to (I know I must have said that a hundred times by now, but.. oh, well..)
